End User License Agreement & Terms of Service
ReadySetPDF LLC, doing business as LockStep Tools ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), provides commercial prepress desktop software, including LockStepPDF, LockStepOCR, LockStepLabel, and related digital assets (the "Software"). By downloading, installing, or purchasing a license to the Software, you ("Licensee," "User," or "Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.1 License Grant & Activations
Upon purchase of a commercial subscription or license, the Company grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the Software. Standard commercial seats permit activation on up to three (3) active workstations owned or leased by the purchasing business. License keys may not be shared, rented, or distributed outside your legal entity.
1.2 Local-First Execution & No Cloud Processing
All Software processing—including PDF parsing, variable data merging, imposition, fold proof generation, and optical character recognition—executes strictly on your local hardware. The Company does not ingest, transmit, host, or view your production files or print artwork.
1.3 Limitation of Liability for Print Production
The Software is a production utility provided "AS IS." The Company is not responsible for bindery errors, misprints, font substitutions, plate discrepancies, paper stock waste, press downtime, or consequential damages resulting from the use or misuse of the Software. Prepress operators are responsible for verifying all digital proofs and press-sheet layouts prior to platemaking and live print runs.
1.4 Merchant of Record
Our order process and billing are conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC). Lemon Squeezy handles order transactions, invoicing, tax collection, and customer payment processing.
1.5 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms must be filed in the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington.
Privacy Policy
ReadySetPDF LLC, doing business as LockStep Tools, prioritizes data privacy for commercial printers, medical mailers, and enterprise clients.
2.1 Customer Production Data
We do not collect, view, or transmit any artwork, PDF files, CSV/spreadsheet databases, patient information, or mailing lists processed by our desktop applications. All processing is 100% offline and stays on your local workstation or network drive.
2.2 Information We Collect
License Activation: when validating a software license, our activation server receives the license key, a machine identifier hash, and your public IP address to ensure seat compliance.
Download Form: if you request a download or trial via our website, we collect your email address to deliver setup links and product announcements.
Purchase Records: when you purchase via Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy collects billing details as our Merchant of Record. We receive only your name, email, billing address, and transaction status; we never see or store full credit card numbers.
2.3 Third-Party Services
We use trusted processors to operate our web infrastructure: a website host, Web3Forms (secure contact and download gating), and Lemon Squeezy (payments and billing management). We do not sell or rent customer data to third parties.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
3.1 Free Trial Period
We provide a fully featured 30-day free trial of our flagship software. We strongly advise evaluating the trial within your actual prepress workflow, RIP architecture, and press equipment prior to purchasing a paid license.
3.2 Cancellation & Refunds
Because full-feature trials are provided prior to purchase, all software license sales and subscription renewals are generally non-refundable once a license key is issued. You may cancel an active subscription at any time via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and your license remains operational through that paid period.
